Pekka certainly deserves to be at the All-Star game. He's got the second most wins and the most saves in the league. The question for me is does Suter belong in that game?

The weather tonight is the only reason I can see this game not being a sell-out. Nashvillians are traditionally wimpy when it comes to weather and beauty sleep.

The Nashville Junior Predators have had a fantastic run. Congratulations! I wonder if certain people north of the border have ingested a few more Tums recently. You know that seeing a team from Nashville win it had to hurt those of a certain mindset significantly.

Sign Suter Sign! That's what I'm going to be yelling instead of Let's Go Preds.

ALL-STAR GAME

I think while Pekka has had a good year, he has not had a great year, but in the end he still deserves to be an All-Star. As for Suter being and All-Star, he too has had a good year, but not a great one, but again he probably deserves to be there too. However, I do think Suter is getting more love simply because the NHL wants to feature him since he could be the prized FA this off season.

SUTER SIGNING OR NOT?

I think that Poile needs to sit down and either get him signed or trade him prior to the deadline. I hate saying that and being that blunt but that is what I think needs to happen. The question also needs to be asked does Suter really want to be here? What kind of commitment does he want to see to winning from the organization? I do know one thing that if the reason for not signing him is due to money that is ridiculous. The Preds have said come out and support the team, by season tickets, fill the building and we will spend to make the Preds a contender. Well the fans have stepped up, they have bought season tickets, filled the building already more time this year then in the history of the Preds, and jersey/hat/shirt sales are up, now its time for the organization to put their money where their mouth is. If they don't that is a shame and unfortunately will prove to those people north of the boarder that Nashville is not a true hockey market and that will be a shame for those of us fans who love this team and sport.

Now, I know that it may be difficult to trade him because the Preds are still in the playoff hunt (which is highly likely). However, we all know that the return will be higher if its at the deadline and not at the draft. But Poile better be sure that his return is top notch and be something like a difference making foward, and high draft pick, and/or a couple top prospects. Also, you have to think that what happens here will play a huge part in Weber's decision, as well.

Poile adding pieces?

I think the main question here is who is really available and what would it cost? Also, Poile has to be careful not to give up to much while trying to add somone to impress Suter and Weber and then they still not sign. Because then we will be without say a Blum or Ellis or Watson or 1st rd pick and no Suter or Weber and that would be a disaster.

What about to ANA: Blum, Watson and 1st and to NSH: Bobby Ryan or to NJ: Blum or Ellis, Lindback, Watson, 1st and to NSH: Parise?

Pekka deserves to be in the all-star game because he was screwed last year. He has good enough numbers to be there this year, as well. The problem will be when we see 4-5 of the 6 all-star goalies wind up being from the eastern conference....again. Because, they deserve it, don't you know.

I would do the Bobby Ryan deal first since his contact is for another 2 years I think. Parise is a great player and supposedly good friend of Suter but then Poile would have to get them both resigned.

I agree about Parise. I've love to see him in Gold but we don't want to give up that much for a rental that we probably won't be able to resign.

Agreed. They would have to be allowed by NJ to negotiate a new contract with him before finalizing any trade.

Money is not the reason. Poile has already stated that Suter knows the money here and the money elsewhere aren't going to be much different. Go listen to the podcast of his interview on 104.5.

I also don't believe that what the front office does is a reflection of Nashville as a hockey market, but rather of them as owners and managers of this organization.

Paul can you convince the game-ops to play the Ryan Ellis "Human Rocket Ship" video tonight? I think people would get a good kick out of it..especially when he nets a goal.

Weber and Suter make it to the All-Star Game. Smith makes the rookie pool.

Hopefully, but there are four sections in the upper bowl that have a few rows of available seating. 302-332. Let's hope the weather doesn't scare off the walkups.

So Pekka was left off the All-Star roster and Cary Price is in. This despite Pekka beating Price out in several key statistical categories including Wins, Saves, Save%, Shutouts, Games Started and Shots against, but I digress. Price does lead Pekka in Penalty Minutes.

Pekka doesn't speak French.

I hear they frown upon that up North...

i remember as a young NYHL player (early 2000's) going north and getting blown out of the water. i am glad to hear NJP winning silver stick. its a huge tournament for young players. Southern hockey has come along way!

i totally disagree. i think the return will be much higher ( for nashville) at the draft. we need a scorer... a proven scorer, not picks and prospects. the long term value may be higher at the deadline, but if it isnt what we need then we still lose. except for a suter for parise type deal we would be idiotic to trade him 6 weeks from now. on the otf morning notes a couple articles alluded to the same thought process.

I guess it's that whole thing about needed a representative from every team. Otherwise you really can't justify Price over Rinne.

I disagree. I don't want him traded at the deadline, but I think his return would be higher then. At the draft, you're basically only trading his rights to another team since he's hitting free agency. If he had another year on his contract (or was an RFA like Weber), then I think you would get a better return at the draft.

i dont want to trade him now either, but as far as the draft im talking a sign and trade type deal.... not a trade his rights deal. a sign and trade could make him worth gold
